Design Engineer – Forging Autocad NX, Solidworks

Location: Pantnagar, Uttarakhand
Experience: 5–6 years
Salary: ₹5–6 LPA (CTC)

Role Summary

We are seeking a skilled Design Engineer – Forging to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in the design and development of forged components, tooling, and dies, with proficiency in CAD software and forging simulation tools.


Key Responsibilities

  • Tool & Die Design
    Design forging dies, tooling, and fixtures for closed die or open die forging processes.

  • Component Design
    Create 2D/3D models of forging components, ensuring manufacturability, dimensional accuracy, and structural integrity.

  • Simulation & Analysis
    Use forging simulation software (like DEFORM, QForm, Simufact) to predict material flow, identify defects, and optimize die design.

  • Drawing Preparation
    Prepare manufacturing and assembly drawings, including GD&T annotations and BOMs.

  • Collaboration with Production & Tool Room
    Work closely with forging production teams and tool room for design validation, trials, and modifications.

  • Process Optimization
    Analyze and improve forging sequences to reduce waste, material usage, and production time.

  • Documentation & Standards
    Maintain all design documentation and ensure compliance with internal and external quality standards (ISO, IATF, etc.).


Key Skills & Tools

  • Proficiency in CAD software: SolidWorks, AutoCAD, NX, or Creo

  • Experience with forging simulation tools: DEFORM, QForm, Simufact

  • Understanding of metallurgy, heat treatment, and material flow in forging processes

  • Knowledge of GD&T, BOM creation, and tolerance stack-up analysis

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities

  • Familiarity with DFM (Design for Manufacturing) principles

  • Ability to work under tight deadlines in a production-oriented environment


Educational Qualifications

  • B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy, or related field
