Head – Engineering (Auto Plastic , NPD & Design)

Location: Noida
Department: Engineering & Product Development
Reports to: Managing Director / CEO
Experience Required: 15-20 years in Automotive Plastic Components (Mirror Assemblies), including Tooling, NPD & Design Leadership

Job Purpose:

To lead the engineering team in the design, development, and industrialization of automotive plastic mirror components and tooling, ensuring time-bound New Product Development (NPD), cost-effective tooling solutions, high-quality output, and alignment with customer specifications and OEM standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. NPD (New Product Development):

• Lead the end-to-end NPD process for automotive mirrors and associated plastic components.

• Interact with OEMs for design feasibility, product specifications, and timeline management.

• Ensure APQP, PPAP, DFMEA, PFMEA, and control plans are in place and compliant.

2. Tooling (Plastic Injection Molds):

• Oversee tool design, development, trials, and validation for mirrors and related parts.

• Coordinate with internal tool rooms or external tool makers (domestic and overseas).

• Optimize tooling cost and ensure high durability and low cycle time tools.

3. Design & Innovation:

• Manage the design team using CAD tools like CATIA, UG-NX, and SolidWorks.

• Drive innovation in lightweighting, modular design, and cost-effective materials.

• Validate designs through simulations and coordinate with testing teams.

4. Engineering Change Management (ECN/ECR):

• Implement engineering change processes in coordination with production and quality teams.

• Maintain full documentation trail and revision history.

5. Cross-Functional Coordination:

• Work closely with Quality, Production, Purchase, and Program Management for project delivery.

• Interface with customer engineering and quality teams for project approvals.

6. Team Development:

• Build and mentor a strong design and NPD engineering team.

• Establish best practices and knowledge-sharing systems.
