Sr. Manager – Quality (Foundry)
Location: Kolkata

Reports to: Plant Head / VP Quality
Job Purpose:
To lead and manage the overall quality function in a foundry environment specializing in fourues (furan resin) casting processes. Responsible for process quality, customer quality, supplier quality, and implementation of robust QMS systems to ensure defect-free deliveries and continual improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Process Quality (Foundry & Fourés Casting):
Oversee and control quality parameters in furan resin casting process.
Analyze and control casting defects – sand-related, inclusion, porosity, blowholes, etc.
Drive process audits and establish robust quality controls at all casting stages.
Coordinate with production, maintenance, and tooling to address recurring quality issues.
2. Customer Quality:
Lead resolution of customer complaints (8D, CAPA).
Ensure timely response and permanent corrective actions for field failures or returns.
Attend customer audits, quality reviews, and develop strong customer relationships.
Monitor and improve customer PPM and satisfaction index.
3. QMS & Certifications:
Ensure implementation and sustenance of QMS (ISO 9001, IATF 16949 as applicable).
Conduct Management Review Meetings, Internal Quality Audits, and MRMs.
Document and maintain SOPs, Control Plans, FMEA, MSA, PPAP documents.
Coordinate third-party audits and ensure zero major NCs.
4. Team Management & Training:
Lead and mentor the quality assurance team.
Conduct training for QA/QC inspectors on defect identification, measurement tools, and quality procedures.
Foster a culture of quality ownership and proactive problem solving.
5. Supplier Quality (if applicable):
Coordinate with supplier development and QA teams for incoming raw material inspection.
Audit and qualify new suppliers for sand, chemicals, alloys, etc.
Drive improvement actions with underperforming suppliers.
