Job Description

Sales Head (Machine Tool Industry)

Location: Noida
Reports To: Managing Director / CEO


Purpose of the Role:

The Sales Head is responsible for increasing the company's market share in both domestic and export markets by driving sales of new products and Special Purpose Machines (SPMs). This role involves developing and executing sales strategies, building strong customer relationships, and leading the sales team to achieve business growth.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Sales & Business Growth:

  • Develop and implement sales strategies to expand the company’s market presence in domestic and international markets.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities for standard machine tools and Special Purpose Machines (SPMs).
  • Work closely with R&D and engineering teams to introduce and promote new product lines.
  • Achieve and exceed sales targets, ensuring revenue growth and profitability.

2. Market Expansion & Exports:

  • Develop and execute export sales strategies to enter new global markets.
  • Build relationships with international distributors, OEMs, and end-users.
  • Ensure compliance with global trade and export regulations.

3. Customer Relationship Management:

  • Establish and maintain long-term relationships with key customers, industry stakeholders, and OEMs.
  • Conduct technical presentations and demonstrations to showcase product capabilities.
  • Gather customer feedback and coordinate with the R&D team for product improvements.

4. Team Leadership & Development:

  • Lead and mentor the sales team, setting clear targets and performance goals.
  • Provide regular training and support to enhance the team’s technical and sales skills.
  • Monitor performance and drive a high-performance sales culture.

5. Pricing & Contract Negotiations:

  • Develop competitive pricing strategies to enhance profitability.
  • Negotiate contracts and finalize deals with customers and channel partners.
  • Work with the finance team to ensure timely payments and credit management.

6. Collaboration with Internal Teams:

  • Work closely with production, engineering, and service teams to align sales strategies with manufacturing capabilities.
  • Provide market insights to guide new product development.

Key Requirements:

1. Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering / Electrical Engineering / MBA in Sales & Marketing.
  • 12-18 years of experience in sales and business development in the Machine Tool Industry.
  • Proven track record in selling SPMs, CNC machines, and industrial automation solutions.

2. Technical & Industry Knowledge:

  • Strong understanding of SPMs, CNC machines, and conventional machine tools.
  • Experience in handling large industrial customers, OEMs, and distributors.
  • Knowledge of export regulations and global trade practices.

3. Skills & Competencies:

  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Strategic thinking and analytical problem-solving.
  • Willingness to travel extensively for domestic and international business development.
